The West Sayville - Oakdale Fire District has taken delivery of their new 2 1/2 ton high water/brush truck. The chassis was "Fully Reprocessed" by Memphis Equipment Company, this entails and complete breakdown of the entire truck to the chassis rails, with all components rebuilt or new. A Cummins diesel engine powers an Allison automatic transmission to power the truck seamlessly thru the woods. The pump is a Hale 30-FS pump head, mounted on a John Deere diesel engine, providing true "pump and roll" capabilities. A 600 gallon UPF poly water tank supplies water to the pump, or the pump can draft from an alternate water source. The custom steel welded body securely holds 4 firefighters in the crew area, with overhead protection for wildland operations. The entire cage is fabricated from 2" and 2 1/2" steel pipe, with a massive 8" steel pipe bumper on the front. The warning lights, as well as the FRC scene lights are all LED. Two Warn M15000 electric winches are mounted on the truck, both front and rear. Storage is built into the upper rear cage for a stokes basket as well as the suctions for drafting. A custom paint job and lettering round out this awesome piece of equipment. This truck was delivery 6 weeks ahead of schedule and on budget. We wish WSOFD many years of good luck with their new GA Chivvis truck.
